My journey to becoming a Financial Advisor was not a straight path to say the least. I was a student athlete who lived and breathed playing softball and knew to my core that I was going to study Interior Design and be a Designer and live happily ever after. That was until I realized that (some) people know little about money and may not know where to go to get answers.
I began searching for my own answers. I read dozens of books, magazine articles and spent way too many hours Googling. And after I collected all of this information I realized that I still didn't have anyone to guide me on everything I've learned. Yes, now I know the difference between a 401(k), IRA and Roth IRA, but which one is best for me?! Help!!
I graduated from Suffolk University with a Bachelor in Fine Arts degree and a couple months later I became a Financial Advisor. Everyone laughs when they hear about my BFA and wonder how I got to where I am today. And that's where I explain my why...
Every (good) Financial Advisor has a reason they got into the industry or why they love what they do.
I became a Financial Advisor because I wanted to be that person that people can ask their most uncomfortable money questions to. I wanted to be the person that I was so desperately seeking myself but couldn't find. I wanted a sounding board that could explain things to me, talk about my hopes and dreams with, share my really exciting money decisions with (like buying a house) but also be open and honest when I spend a little bit too much money (like on my last vacation).
That is my WHY.
